Kia Ora means ‘be healthy’ in the Maori language which has entered New Zealand English. With this blessing I begin the trip across the Middle Earth, which Tolkien had created so meticulously for the benefit of all the daydreamers. I am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and I am sure I will be riding the Middle Earth in my mind while physically I tread through and across one of the most beautiful countries on earth.

Amen and let it begin.

The trip

This trip is the result of The Great Australian Roadtrip which was successfully completed on 12th January 2008 in Melbourne after 72 Days and 20,500kms. The Australian trip had three Indians (including me) on two motorbikes and one van. After the trip the team quickly went on to their ‘abnormal lives’, including me. I was about to leave for my homecity of Delhi in India when this fantastic opportunity came about. So here I am, alone on this trip astride on a behemoth.

The New Zealand trip will start from 17th February 2008 from Auckland and will finish back in Auckland on 9th March 2008.

Who is this Guy?

I am Sundeep Gajjar. Sunny would be a better and terse name for me. I am a proud Indian from New Delhi representing India’s largest biking club of xBhp. And I am damn jumpy right now because I am about to ride through some of the most beautiful places in the world, or so I am told.

You can learn more about me and xBhp from the links above or on the right side of this page.

What is the aim of the trip?

Travel. Beyond the basics the trip is aimed to showcase New Zealand as a riding country from an Indian’s eyes to the xBhp.com community back in India. We will be reaching bigger audiences through some articles in some of the biggest magazines in India as well. The experience will be shared through travelogues, photographs and videos. I will be updating this blog and website as regularly as possible during my trip through NZ. Besides this, this webblog will help people visiting NZ for a tour on bikes in a limited number of time.
